About Roxy
The latest addition to the Russells team, Roxy joined us in December 2023.
Roxy originally came over from Ireland and was sold as a beginner horse (which she was not). She has previously been aggressively trained, has tether scars and sadly shows reactive behaviour that points to a history of being beaten.
She is well behaved although can be spooky, but is quick to learn and settles quickly when reassured. Roxy is good to ride and has energy, but needs clear direction from her handler.
We have worked with Roxy to build her trust both on the ground and when ridden and she has just started being used for selected lessons in the riding school.
Roxy lives out with the mares and spends much of her time quietly observing the antics of the rest of the herd from a distance and apparently thinking “What ARE you crazy guys up to?”
